Israel had made league with the heathen nations around, in disobedience to the command of God to drive them out. Those associations became an entrapment in their lives and a hindrance to their relationship with the Lord God. When we associate with and adopt the ways of the world around us, we too can become trapped in thinking and practices which are antagonistic to God and His word; that will sicken our spiritual health and break our relation with the Lord.

How simple to become entrapped in some way. It is a task to continually take a look at our lives and affiliations and do a spiritual checkup. To come out from among them and be ye separate.
